The Sygnum Standard is the way we run every job, the documentation we keep, the measurements we take, and the record we leave behind. It applies the governance of a regulated industry to an engineering business, because the equipment we work on is too important to hand over on trust alone.
These are not aspirations. They are the tests we apply to a job before we consider it finished.
The work behind a panel is finished to the same standard as the work in front of it. Nothing is skipped on the assumption that nobody will look. Where there is a correct method, that is the method we use, and every installation carries our name.
We are engineering-led. We measure before we assume, diagnose rather than guess, and keep learning the systems we work on. We are the contractor to call when the problem is not straightforward.
Engineering decisions, commissioning data, system changes and your authorisations are recorded and kept. Return to one of our systems years later and its history can be read. If we did it, we can show you.
We are not the cheapest, and we do not pretend to be. You get excellent work at a fair price, an itemised scope you can read, and variations agreed with you rather than discovered on the invoice. Technical complexity is never used against a customer who does not work in this industry.
We build relationships, not transactions. Customers, engineers, apprentices and suppliers are treated with the same professionalism, and our engineers are supported and trained to do the job well. Commercial success never requires treating people badly.
Which records apply depends on the work, but the principle does not: if we return to your system in three or five years, its history can be reconstructed from what we wrote down.
Replacing parts until a fault clears is expensive and often temporary. Our engineers record readings and observations, then reach a conclusion the evidence supports.
Pressures, temperatures, currents and airflow, taken on site and written down.
A conclusion drawn from the readings, not from the most likely guess.
The data behind that conclusion, shown to you in terms you can follow.
Repair or replace, with the cost and the reasoning for each option.
Added to the system's file, so the next visit starts with the history.

Sygnum operates as an engineering organisation rather than an installation contractor. Engineers are directly employed, work is governed by documented procedures, and client relationships are managed over the life of the system rather than the duration of a project. It is a more demanding structure to maintain, and a more accountable one to appoint.
We are building a maintenance-led business across Cambridgeshire and London, developing engineers and apprentices within the company rather than recruiting per project. Remaining independent of any single manufacturer allows us to specify equipment on technical merit and suitability, not on a contractual obligation to supply a particular brand.
Any quotation we send explains what we are installing and why. Any repair we diagnose comes with the readings behind it. Ask, and we will show you.
